In this latest collection, my aim was to demonstrate diversity, showcasing a range of classic and original styles. Dupion silk pillbox headpieces in a range of delicate pastels reflect the soft hues embraced by the new season while stronger sculptural hats in bolder colours sit in contrast alongside them. The Spring / Summer ’12 collection also features felts, soft trilby styles and floral patterns which conjure a sense of 70’s disco glamour.
Each piece is designed to inspire a unique style. Core to each of my collections is maintaining a sense of femininity at the heart of my designs. The on-going collaboration of my millinery and jewellery backgrounds remains with sparkling touches throughout the range.
While I intend for my Spring/Summer ’12 collection to stand out on its own, I also want it to neatly dove-tail with the bespoke couture pieces I create for clients, working closely with them on a one-to-one basis. The experience of working with each client is individual. Some clients come to me with a very definite idea of what they would like while many will ask me to design a piece based on their silhouette and their outfit. I often find that I style their finished look, carrying through certain tones to the degree needed to bring every element together. I truly appreciate the opportunity I have to meet each client and work directly with them.
