Emily Jean O Byrne is the Founder and Creative Director at the premium headwear brand Emily Jean – Millinery Atelier based in Ireland.
The brand launched in 2007 with the opening of a Galway City showroom, having built up a reputation for high end, individual and bespoke design.
The brand now has over ten years’ experience in hat styling and guiding clients through every aspect of their appearance for special occasions.
In 2018 the Emily Jean – Millinery Atelier relocated to the picturesque village of Moycullen and it is now considered a destination atelier, attracting customers from across Ireland as well as many international visitors.
Due to the growing international interest and overseas enquiries the designer has established an online consultation service, where direct styling advice can be provided to help determine a preferred design and ensure that it works with the overall outfit.
The hat making studio offers wedding hats for Mother of the Bride, special occasion wear, horse racing events, as well as a Bridal collection. Every piece is handmade by the studio millinery team in Moycullen, who provide a fully bespoke service throughout the year.
Emily Jean O Byrne trained as a jeweller in the UK before extending her studies to millinery and interning with world renowned milliners, including the millinery department of The House Of Chanel, ‘Maison Michel’ in Paris.
The label has drawn attention from a number of high profile clients including Baroness and ladies of the royal court, fashion stylists and the Press.
The Emily Jean Millinery brand has also be involved in collaborations with fashion brands. In 2014 Emily Jean Millinery was approached by the internationally recognised Belgian brand Linea Raffalii to design a range of bespoke headwear for their bridal wear line.
In 2017 the label collaborated with the established Irish heritage company Magee 1866, known for it’s quality Irish made tweed, to create a range of hats incorporating the iconic Donegal tweed.
The Emily Jean team are looking forward to expanding the brand and developing markets overseas.
